¡El Soundtrack y la razon de las caciones de City of Fallen Angels!

Y comenzamos el año con un regalo :)

Un Regalo de año Nuevo de Cassandra: El Soundtrack de City of Fallen Angels. Cassandra agrego el título de la canción, un poco de la letra y el porqué escogio esa canción.

1) If my Heart was a House, Owl City



"Circle me and the needle moves gracefully back and forth
If my heart was a compass, you'd be North
Risk it all 'cause I'll catch you if you fall
Wherever you go, if my heart was a house, you'd be home"

Me hace pensar en Clary y Jace, especialmente porque en gran parte estan en riesgo. Y por supuesto para Jace, abrirse a alguien es un gran riesgo. Arriesgarlo todo porque te atraparé si caes" — me hace pensaer en el capítulo "Fear of Falling" (Miedo a caer).


2) While We Were Dreaming, Pink Mountaintops

"And if I could find your heart
I would pull it from your chest
And smash you with my fist
Til it was beating
And if there's a hole inside
Heaven in your bed
Coz the angel that you kissed
Just left you bleeding"

Las cosas se tornan más oscuras con ésta, a pesar de que el sonido no es oscuro - es muy angelical, una canción inolvidable. Para mí se trata de intentar conseguir comunicarse con alguien a quien se ama, pero no puede. También son Jace y Clary.

3) Carousel, Paper Route

"On and on and on we go
Just like a carousel that's lost control
And we don't know why, we don't know why
We go and go and go in circles"

¿Y por qué Jace y Clary debe tener todas las angustiosas canciones? Esto me hace pensar en Magnus y Alec, porque me parece que es una canción acerca de tener la misma lucha una y otra vez sobre lo mismo, pero que realmente no lleva a ninguna parte.

4) This is My City, Timothy Victor

"'Cause this is my town
This is my city
Through my eyes it looks so pretty
This is my town, this is my city now
These are my people, this is my song
Dirty streets where I belong'

Escuché por primera vez este en el programa de "Skins" y parecía resumir cómo los personajes se sienten acerca de Nueva York. De hecho, posiblemente como todos los neoyorquinos se sienten sobre Nueva York!

5) Sweet and Low, Augustana

"Anywhere you go, anyone you meet
Remember that your eyes can be your enemies
I said hell is so close, and heavens out of reach,
But I ain't giving up quite yet,
I've got too much to lose"

Esta es para Simon. Él se encuentr bajo todas estas increibles presiones en este libro y para mi es una canción acerca de aferrarse bajo presión a la fe en la gente que te quiere.

6) No Better, Sherwood

"You're no better, I know you're no better than this
So give up and let it rain down
You're no better, I know you're no better
And all your failed attempts are hanging over the edge of your father's fence
And oh, you give up so we can fall down
You're no better, you know you're no better than him"

Jace. Aún tiene problemas sobre su padre. Bueno, en realidad no ha pasado tanto tiempo. Y no ayuda que Jocelyn está convencida de que es como Valentine.


7) Fall Hard, Shout Out Louds

"And if you fall hard, I fall harder
And if you fall hard, I fall harder
If you're gonna break just let it break
I'll pick up the pieces and mistakes"

Jace y Clary nuevamente. Están tan atados entre sí que si uno de ellos cae, el otro cae también. Esta metáfora de toda la caída continúa a lo largo del libro (bueno, se llama Ciudad de los ángeles CAÍDOS.)


8) Marry Song, Band of Horses

"I'll marry my lover in a place to admire
I don't have to even ask her I can look in her eyes
And thank God that I am forgiven"


Luke y Jocelyn. Al fin se han comprometido para casarse, pienso que Luke creer que este es realmente el momento de su vida en que todo su pasado canta por ser perdonado y se pone a empezar de nuevo con la vida que quiere ... o no?


9) Degausser, Brand New

"Take me, take me back to your bed
I love you so much that it hurts my head
Say, "I don't mind you under my skin.
I'll let the bad parts in, the bad parts in"
Well when we were made we were set apart
But life is a test and I get bad marks"

Me encanta Brand New. Sus canciones siempre terminan siendo perfectas para Jace o Clary. Creo que porque las letras son siempre tan épicas.

"When I arrive will God be waiting and pacing around his throne?
Will he feel a little Old Testament?
And will he celebrate with fire and brimstone
Yeah, I admit, I am afraid of the reckoning"


Un ajuste de cuentas es, sin duda, lo que viene tanto para Clary como para Jace. Me gusta especialmente "Cuando fuimos hechos fuimos separados" porque me hace pensar en la verdader manera de Valentine para hacerlos gestionarse, por así decirlo, para ser iguales.


10) Wolves, the Accidental



"There were wolves lying the dark
As she was raining sparks into the room like that

Me hace pensar en Maia, por supuesto. Ella tiene una parte ligeramente más grande en este libro y aprenderemos un poco más sobre su pasado y por qué tiene problemas de confianza.


11) It's in Your Blood, Lydia



"So we cover ourselves in your fear,
and stay to watch that moon disappear under these lights.
This city's screaming at me.
And as you breathe the words I better go.
The sun is up and taking back all the shadows that covered this ground,
and our feet,
like a blanket of coal."

Simon pierde mucho en este libro, y se encuentra en mucho peligro, básicamente por lo que está "en su sangre " - el Daylighter en el que se ha convertido. Por supuesto, él también tiene dos novias. Es una vida difícil.


12) Angels on the Moon, Thriving Ivory

"This is to one last day in the shadows
And to know a brother's love
This is to New York City angels
And the rivers of our blood"

Es criminal que esto no esté en el Soundtrack de City of Glass, pero para el momento en que lo pensé fue demasiado tarde. Es demasiado perfecta! Me gusta pensar de los Cazadores de Sombras como los ángeles de Nueva York.

13) "Love Like This" The Summer Set

I'm spinning out."

Este siempre me hace pensar en Isabel y Simon y cómo él esta siendo constantemente perseguido por la sensación de que no importa que no puede mantenerse al día con ella.


14) Parachute, Ingrid Michaelson

"Don't believe the things you tell yourself so late at night
You are your own worst enemy, you'll never win the fight
Just hold on to me, I'll hold onto you
It's you and me up against the world, it's you and me"

Otra canción de Jace y Clary - existe un cierto "nosotros contra el mundo" aspecto de su relación, sobre todo a principios en el libro.

15) In my Veins, Andrew Belle

Esta es una canción muy buena para el final de un libro que inicia una nueva trilogía:

"Everything will change.
Nothin' stays the same.
And nobody here's perfect.
Oh but everyones to blame.
All that you rely on
And all that you can save
Will leave you in the morning"

Y amo la canción

"Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out
Oh you're all I taste
At night inside of my mouth."

Que podrían aplicarse a cualquiera de las parejas que se desarrollan a lo largo del libro.

Espero que les haya gustado (y no haberme equivocado en alguna traducción), por lo pronto yo ya me baje todo el soundtrack jajaja.

En mi opinión, no me gustó la ultima canción. Es decir, me gusta pero la he visto otras veces en programas y siempre es cuando alguna persona muere o algo muy malo pasa
